Join us on the Library patio for a discussion with Edgar Award and American Mystery Award winning local author David Handler.
BE THERE to hear about David’s twelfth and latest book in the Stewart Hoag mystery series. This particular installment in the series takes place hereabouts– which is to say the 18-acre farm on Joshuatown Road in Lyme that belongs to Hoagy’s ex-wife, Merilee Nash, who is in Budapest filming a sequel to The Sun Also Rises. It’s peak autumn color season and Hoagy has decided to drive out from New York, pick some apples and pears, put the garden to bed and think deep thoughts about the direction his new novel is taking when he, as you say, inadvertently makes a dangerous enemy. There are a number of scenes at local landmarks, including the old A&P supermarket, the Rustic Inn and our very own PGN Library. There is even a cameo appearance by a character from the Berger-Mitry Dorset series.
Set in 1990’s Lyme and Old Lyme, you’ll be transported to local landmarks like Joshuatown Rd, the Lyme Library and the Phoebe through the eyes of Hoagy and his faithful basset hound Lulu as they solve a double murder.
